Create or edit an Item

Items

Items are either goods that you purchase from your vendors and sell to your customers, or, services that you provide for which you get paid. In Zoho Inventory, you can add these items with ease and manage their inventory such that, every time you create a purchase request to your vendor, its stock increases and when you sell the items, its stock decreases automatically.

Create New Item

To create a new item in Zoho Inventory:
1. Go to Items module under Inventory from the left side bar
2. Click "+" icon near the Items title or "New" not eh right side of the screen

3. Enter required information in the New Item screen
  1. Select the type "Service" or "Goods"    
  2. Add the Name
  3. Add the SKU, it should be a unique value
  4. Select a category from the dropdown
  5. Dimensions is optional field
  6. Weight  is optional field
  7. Manufacturer  is optional field
  8. Brand  is optional field
  9. UPC is optional field
  10. MPN is optional field
  11. EAN is optional field
  12. ISBN is optional field
  13. Buffer is used to calculate ordered qty for PO
  14. Origin is optional field
  15. SO Unit please, leave it empty. It is used for generating POs
  16. Memo is optional field
  17. Sales Information
    1. Selling Price enter the price for item used in Sales transactions
    2. Account select sales account
    3. Default Unit select default unit for Sales Transactions
    4. Description this is optional field. Add information if you want to see it while creating Sales Transactions
  18. Purchase Information
    1. Cost Price enter the price for item used in Purchase transactions
    2. Account select purchase account
    3. Default Unit select default unit for Purchase Transactions
    4. Description this is optional field. Add information if you want to see it while creating Purchase Transactions
  19. Preferred Vendor select a preferred vendor for item
  20. Track Inventory for this item mark as yes
  21. Track Bin location for this item do not select
  22. Inventory Account select Inventory Account
  23. Inventory Valuation Method select preferred Inventory valuation method

4. Click Save on the bottom of the record
5. Now the item is Saved and will be automatically synchronized to Creator

Edit Item

To edit an item 

1. Go to Items module under Inventory on the left sidebar

2. Click the item you wish to edit

3. Click pencil icon on the top right side. Edit and Save the record. Changed will be saved and synced to Creator.


Import Items

To import Items to Zoho Inventory account:
1. Go to Items module under Inventory on the left sidebar
2. Click on the more icon on the right side of the screen. Select the Import Items. Follow the details here


3. After file is imported, go to Items module under Inventory on the left sidebar
4. Select imported items and click Sync Items on the top menu bar. Items will be synced to Creator

Each time Item is created with the file import this button Sync Items has to be clicked to sync item  to Creator. 
Each time item's Name / SKU / Preferred Vendor / Status / Unit / Sales Unit / Purchase Unit / Buffer is updated with imported file, the Sync Item button has to be clicked to sync data to Creator.
